General Terms and Conditions for Language Courses

Applicability

The following General Terms and Conditions GTC are valid for all language courses (private tuition, early immersion, company courses, group courses) accomplished by ZESS directly or under one of its trademarks Social City and MyBridge.ch.

Inscription for a course consultation

The course consultation is free and non-compulsive. Its purpose is to present the client a course offer that is adapted to his needs and wishes. The client is free to accept the offer and register on a binding basis, request an altered offer, or not to enter into the offer.

Course Registration

With your course registration you agree to accept ZESS General Terms and Conditions for language courses taught directly by ZESS or under the trademarks Social City or MyBridge.ch. Registration is legally binding and obligates the payment of booked services and products.

Cancellation

Participants can cancel the booked course up until 7 days before the course starting date for an administrative fee of CHF 30.-. After this deadline, the participant is legally obliged to pay the full cost of the course.

Participants who abort courses are not entitled to a refund. Cancellations due to illness will be compensated with vouchers, on presentation of a medical attestation. The voucher is personal and non-transferable. Vouchers will not be exchanged for cash.

Absence in case of private lessons

Please communicate your absence as soon as possible, in any case at least two days before the respective lesson. In case of absence due to sudden illness or accident, lessons can be cancelled until two hours before the lesson starts by presenting a medical certificate subsequently. In this case, please contact your teacher directly. Lessons that have been missed without any or too short notice are passed to account.

Course annulment

ZESS has the right to cancel courses due to lack of registrations up to 3 days before course start. In this case, the participants will receive full reimbursement.

 Length of courses

Start and end dates are indicated on the course description for group courses. Also private courses, which are generally flexible in time, are determinable. All booked private lessons that have not been utilized until the end date, run out of validity and are billed such as taught.

Prices

The prices on our webpage are binding. Prices do not include neither course material nor administrative fees . Administrative Fees are clearly indicated on our webpage or in these GTCs.

Payment

You can pay the fees for our services either directly at online registration or via invoice. In this case, participants receive an invoice shortly after registration. The fees must be paid before the course begins. If not agreed differently, the course material will be distributed directly during the lessons and must be paid in cash.

Certificate / Confirmation of attendance

Every participant receives a confirmation of attendance by request in the case that he/she has attended at least 80% of the booked lessons. Participants of group courses with a defined learning target receive a certificate upon successful course completion.

Assessment of Learners' Needs

In the case of individualized private tuition, a teacher clarifies the learners' needs in detail during the first lesson, the results of which serve as a basis for the planning of the private lessons.

Class size

The school management defines a minimal and a maximal number of participants for group courses at the time of course announcement. Classes usually consist of a maximum of twelve students.

Changes

We reserve the right to make changes to the course programme and prices.

Insurance

Participants are responsible to make their own insurance arrangements (Accident, liability insurance etc.) ZESS assumes no liability in case of loss of objects, theft or other damage.

Jurisdiction
