All Social City language courses are adapted to the individual needs and interests of our students, they are efficient, flexible and motivating and they are guided by ZESS Quality Principles:

TEACHING

• Our teachers incorporate the students' interest into the planning and teaching of the lessons.
• Social City language courses are based on up-to-date educational material.
• Our teachers ensure that the length of the courses and the teaching methods are in an adequate relation to the learning objectives, to the interests and possibilities of the participants and to the contents to be taught.
• Mid-term and long-term courses (more than 20 lessons) are guided by a clear progression.
• Structure and form of the courses are oriented towards methodological variety.

TEACHERS

Social city teachers dispose of professional competences in the following areas:

• Linguistic competences: designated language competence in the target language. Usually our teachers are native speakers and have got an academic background in linguistics, literature or language teaching studies.
• Didactic competences: Our teachers studied either didactics or pedagogy at a university or in a permanent education programme and/or they have got several years of experience in language teaching.
• Personal and social competences: Social city teachers are competent in intercultural settings, they show empathy, respect, appreciation, and tolerance for people of other origins, they have good communicative and social skills and are motivated to teach.

When employing a new teacher, we make sure, that she or he has got the necessary skills to assure our quality teaching and we both support and instruct our teachers with their work as well as we continuously control the quality of the lessons. Thus we regularly send our clients recurrent evaluation forms in order to improve and adapt the lessons and to maintain quality standards also on the long run.
